From the Desk of our Administrator: Bobby Baker

To All Members of West Volusia Moose Lodge,

First of all, as we start a new “Moose Year”, I want to thank all the lodge and chapter members who have stepped up and will be serving as officers and chairman. Although this requires a lot of your time and effort, I will guarantee you that it will be a rewarding feeling for you. As members, it is our job to support these officers by volunteering and every now and then, let them know we appreciate them.

I am so proud to be a part of this great organization and to be around members like you that have such great attitudes. Sometimes I hear “Thank You Bobby, for what you have done”. While I will always appreciate that, it is you guys that are doing this. We still have a long way to go but we are on the right track.

I want to thank Sherri, through good times and bad, she is always there. That is what a true Moose member is. If we believe in our cause, then nothing can stand in our way. Welcome to Dawn, while brand new, she has become a welcome addition. Rich in the kitchen is doing a wonderful job (Cheeseburger, Chili, and fried egg!!). Soon we may expand our menu, but we are taking baby steps right now. With this team, how can we fail?

I want to thank everyone who has stepped up and helped out around the lodge, whether it be cooking, serving (Brett’s girls), building horse shoe pits or helping out with lunch. No matter how big or small the task, everyone helps, and the rewards are so great. I want you to notice when people are here, they are smiling and that makes me feel good. That means we are doing the right things.

Bear with us, everyone is trying to get organized and making sure we are getting the word out to all our members about upcoming events. Stay tune for emails, Facebook, and best of all word of mouth. Tell all your friends about this place and if they used to be members get them back. Call them and let them know what they are missing.

From the Desk of our Governor:
Dear Brothers & Co-Workers:

First and foremost, I would like to say “THANK YOU” to all our members and staff for the wonderful support that you have given our Moose Lodge.

As our Lodge embarks on new adventures, I find this time both exciting and refreshing. Our Lodge has always been a strong Lodge and the Board of Officers wish to continue this trend. We have great members and a beautiful Lodge to socialize with our West Volusia members.

We have a committee whose sole duty will be to keep you informed of happenings in our lodge. The Officers continue to look for new upcoming events. Several, really good, ideas have been rolling in for future events. Also, our standard calendar is always in effect. Don’t miss out on these activities. Attending the LOOM and WOTM meetings is a great way to bring your suggestions to the Lodge.

We still need your support of membership, both new and retention. Let’s bring in our family and friends and show an increase in membership this year. You, as members, are the voice of the Moose Fraternity. Come to a meeting and learn what the Moose Fraternity is really about. It is up to all of us, as members, to promote what the Moose is all about, the children at Mooseheart, the seniors at Moosehaven, and the charities in the community. That is why we are here! Part of the meeting Ceremony says “A burden heavy to one is borne lightly by many”. I would like to encourage every member to sign a new or former member this year. Invite them to an activity, tell them the story of the Moose, the great member benefits, and ask them to join us. The Moose Fraternity is the greatest story that we never tell. Let us start by telling our story.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for all your support to our Lodge and ask that you continue to keep up the good work. Please remember that if there is anything that I can do or any of our officers can do to make your visit a more enjoyable one, just let us know. If you should have any questions, feel free to get with me.

We’re Looking forward to a Great year. We have a lot of new ideas and great things to do.
Hopefully more of you ladies will be able to come to our meetings. The new time change will make it easier to include you in our meetings.
